What is the difference between mined and lab created diamonds?
The difference between mined and lab created diamonds is very straightforward: mined diamonds are mined from the earth, while lab created diamonds are created in a lab. Both are diamonds, just their source is different.
Mined and lab created diamonds are optically chemically, and compositionally the same. Only with a special tester can they be distinguished from one another and are both real diamonds.
What is the difference between moissanite and lab created diamonds?
While moissanite may appear to be chemically similar to diamonds, they are not the same as a diamond. Moissanite are composed of silicon carbide, not carbon and are double refractive as opposed to single refractive diamonds. Double refractivity is what gives moissanite their disco ball sparkle effect which is visually different to the brilliance and scintillation of a diamond. Moissanite are not as hard as diamonds measuring at 9.5 on the Mohs scale and change colour over time.
What is the difference between cubic zirconia and lab created diamonds?
Cubic zirconia and lab created diamonds are chemically, compositionally, and optically different. Cubic zirconia is a diamond simulant while lab-created diamonds are real diamonds.
Are lab created diamonds real diamonds?
Yes! Lab created diamonds are real diamonds. They are chemically and visually identical to their mined counterparts.
Are lab created diamonds as durable as mined diamonds?
Yes! Because they have the same chemical composition as mined diamonds, lab created diamonds have the same hardness and durability as mined diamonds.
Will lab created diamonds fade or change colour over time?
No! Because they share the same properties as mined diamonds, lab created diamonds will not fade or change colour over time.
How are lab created diamonds graded for colour and clarity?
Because lab created diamonds share the same properties as mined diamonds, they are graded the same way. A VS mined diamond and VS Lab Created diamond are the same quality and clarity.
Can lab created diamonds be insured?
Yes! Lab created diamonds can be insured.
How do you grade lab created diamonds?
Lab created diamonds use the same 4cs (carat, cut, clarity, and colour) as mined diamonds.

How long does it take for home delivery?
The estimated time for home delivery typically ranges between 7 to 10 business days from the date you place your order.
However, delivery times may vary depending on your location and any unexpected delays.

Do I need an account to place an order?
No, you don’t need an account to place an order. You can simply proceed as a Guest user, allowing you to place your order quickly without the need to create or log into an account. This makes the ordering process fast and convenient, especially if you’re looking for a one-time purchase or prefer not to register.
What products aren't eligible for return?
We're unable to accept returns on engraved, or any other personalized items, as we’ve customized these pieces especially for you.
Items purchased from our clearance or discounts section are eligible for exchange or credit note only.
How do I place an online Order?
To place an online order, start by browsing through the items on the website. Once you find a product you want, click on it to view more details and then select the option to add it to your cart. When you’re ready to finalize your purchase, go to your cart to review your selected items. From there, proceed to the checkout page, where you can provide your payment information to complete the order.
How do I return my online order?
There are two different ways to make a return:
Online returns
Fill out the web form for returns and exchanges
Complete the return form and indicate the products you are going to return, giving your order number and postal code. Follow the indicated steps.
Prepare your package
Pack the items you want to return in a box in good condition and which is securely sealed. Please ensure to properly address your package. For security purposes, do not write Lanka Jewels anywhere on the outside of your package. Write Service Center, 346-32555 London Avenue, Mission, BC V2V6M7. Lanka Jewels is not liable/responsible for any lost or returned packages sent not completely sealed or taped.
Once you have prepared your package, bring it to your closest Canada Post service location.
After receiving your package, we’ll approve your return if everything is in its original, unworn, unaltered condition. We aim to process all returned orders within 15 business days on receiving your package, however this may take up to 30 working days during the busier times of the year or even your financial institution.
In-store returns
Go to one of our Lanka Jewels store at 346-32555 London Avenue, Mission, BC V2V6M7.
Return the items in store
The items need to be in the original package, with their original invoice and be in their original, unworn, unaltered condition.
*For both options, make sure to have your return dropped off within 30 days from when you receive your order to receive your refund.
Returns will not be processed for any unauthorized, improperly packaged, or non-insured packages and will be returned to the sender. Items that have been damaged in any way cannot be accepted for return.

When will I be refunded?
We aim to process all returned orders within 5-7 working days, however this may take up to 30 working days during busier times of year and due to your financial institution.
You can opt for an exchange for a similar value product or store credit.
What if my return is late?
After 30 days from when you receive your order, items are ineligible to be returned or exchanged. We won’t be able to process the return or exchange if you are outside of your return window.
